Is Survey Club a scam? – No, but it’s a great way to fill up your inbox

Is survey Club a scam

Survey Club is another online portal where you can make money online taking surveys. There are many out there.  But is that it, is that all there is to it? Is there more?

I will take you inside and we can really find out is Survey Club a scam?

Here we go…

Summary

Product Name: Survey Club

Website url: www.surveyclub.com

Cost: Free to Join

My Rating:  2 out of 5

My Recommendation: There are many survey companies out there where you can earn a few dollars, but Survey Club is not the best of these and you really won’t make much money. If you want a way to build a full time income online, read my top recommendation.

What is Survey Club about?

This platform is a place where you can find a directory of surveys to take.

This includes surveys from Survey Club directly as well as from other survey sites. A place where they all come together. It’s a portal for many different survey companies.

You can select the surveys you like from those that pay cash, rewards, provide free stuff, whatever takes your fancy.

At first glance Survey Club is a very professional looking website, where you could imagine many companies would want to post their surveys there to gather information. Survey Club has been around since 2005, so they are one of the older platforms, thus you would expect more trustworthy and more reputable.

But don’t judge a book by it’s cover.

Something that is worth noting upfront is that the surveys are only available to people living in the USA, UK, Canada and Australia.

How does it work?

First of all you have to become a member and fill in a short profile including demographic information and information on interests.

Makes sense. The reason for this is so that Survey Club can match your preferences and profile to the correct survey supplier.

In order to join to have to give in your email address – as you would expect.

When you look at the list of surveys available, in the section ‘Available Surveys’. there are two options.

  1. You can choose a ‘special survey’ which essentially is a redirect for another site where you have to sign up again and fill in more details, or
  2. You can choose one of the surveys hosted there by Survey Club.

In all honesty you can’t just stick with Survey Club’s own surveys, there are not enough of them. You will need to register for more survey companies.

The problem with this is that you need to register again every time, and fill in an initial profile AGAIN. This takes time and involves giving up your email address for more sites over and over. You can end up giving up your email address several times a day. So what do you think this will result in?

Survey Club Review

Is it easy to earn?

The problem is with Survey Club, as is the case with many surveys, is that despite your profile that you have already filled in, they need to see if you qualify for each individual survey ON TOP of that.

So when you start taking the survey, you fill in preliminary questions and then half way through you can get shut out. So you have wasted 5 minutes, at least, pre-qualifying, or as I found in most cases, NOT qualifying at all.

This is incredibly frustrating and actually brings your per hour earnings right down. You do get $0.10 if you are shut out of a survey, but to be honest, for the time it takes to get there, this again is VERY low earnings. There are SO many better ways to earn online than this.

In terms of earning when you actually DO get accepted into the survey, you are looking at about an average of $2 for 25 minutes work. So your hourly rate is just over $4.  Pretty poor don’t you think? And that’s if you get accepted.

Is it worth it?

I have looked at several online complaints from members using Survey Club. They talk about a lot of frustration with using Survey Club. Here are some of the annoyances that I found people commented on

  • You are not eligible for every survey. After spending 5 minutes filling in pre-qualification questions you can be shut out.
  • Having to sign up for multiple other sites to get access to other surveys
  • Guess what the other sites use your contact details for. Members have reported receiving promotional offers and trial offers over and over again. This seems to be more of a common occurrence than actually surveys being sent to you. Essentially, although you have given over your details and have authorised these emails – I consider this to be spam. This is not what you signed up for, so you should not be receiving this.
  • The feeling of worth. Are these surveys actually being used, are you wasting your time, or are companies using this to get your contact details?
  • In the terms and conditions, when you sign up to Survey Club you are allowing it’s third parties to have access to your details. That’s not great, and something you could easily gloss over only to find your inbox flooded with junk.
  • The amount of time it takes to earn anything. As you qualify for only a few surveys, it can take a long time to build up any money
  • You have to have earnt $20 before you can take out the cash. At the rate I was going based on the surveys that were available to me, this would have taken a month. Come on, you want to be able to earn a hell of a lot more than that if you want to make a full time income online.

Is Survey Club any different to other survey sites?

Survey Club is one of the big players out there.

Perhaps because it is a portal for all of these different survey companies, or perhaps because it has been around since 2005.

What is Survey Club

The only main difference is that Survey Club appears to not screen the companies who are asking you to fill in surveys, where other companies appear to be more choosy.

You don’t have any control over when you work with Survey Club. When you log on might not be the time that surveys are available. This is a similar problem to other survey sites – There are no specific times of the day where more surveys are available, so it’s pot luck if you can get what you need. Most members report getting only  1-2 surveys a day. It’s hardly going to change your life!

If this is a route to earn money at home that you are interested in, I would suggest that there are other better sites out there, which actually have more interesting things to do as well as surveys. Try Inboxdollars, or Swagbucks or take a look at my article which is all about earning money by doing small tasks online. Here you can combine a few similar options like this to get as much out of it as possible

However it is still not going to make you a full time income online like other programs can.

My verdict

In answer to my own question ‘Is Survey Club a scam?’, the answer is most definitely not.

But that doesn’t mean that it is a good way to earn money online. In fact it is a very unproductive way to spend your valuable time. Not to mention incredibly dull and frustrating.

To be honest, it doesn’t have much going for it.

So what now?

Well, I think you want to be earning more than $4 a hour don’t you? For your self worth if nothing else. But don’t you want something where you have the control as to when you work, and how you work.

And wouldn’t you like to do something that you find really interesting. Answering surveys is definitely not that.

If you are serious about earning an income from home, try my no 1 recommendation to build a profitable online business.
