Is Traffic Monsoon a Scam? – Don’t Waste Your Money!

Traffic Monsoon Logo

Traffic monsoon is yet another traffic exchange program, claiming that you can get quality traffic from buying its packages OR you can earn money by visiting other peoples sites. I’ll tell you upfront, I don’t believe in these. I don’t think you can get quality traffic in such a way.

I will tell you why when I answer the question, is Traffic Monsoon a scam?

Summary

What is Traffic Monsoon About?

Traffic Monsoon is a way to drive traffic to your website, and lots of it. AND very quickly. But it serves four functions which I will go into more detail in a bit:

  1. You can earn money by simply clicking on other’s sites to help them generate traffic.
  2. You can buy traffic packages to send traffic to your website.
  3. You can buy what they call ‘ad packs’ and get involved in ‘revenue sharing’.
  4. You can refer people to the Traffic Monsoon program.

Traffic Monsoon was established in 2014 by a man called Charles Scoville. It has to be said that he does’t have the best reputation out there, and has been involved in many scams in the past. Maybe he’s changed, maybe he has found his thing.  Are you willing to take a risk.. I’m not so sure I would!

Traffic Monsoon has delivered vast quantities of traffic to it’s members sites since it started, all that is true, but my question is, is it the RIGHT kind of traffic?

Presumably you are on this page because you are looking for one of two things. Either you want more visitors to your website or you are looking at ways to make money online. Let’s have a look and see if Traffic Monsoon can help with that.

If you are here, looking to build an online business,

then take a look at my number one recommendation

Way 1: Clicking to make money

This is as simple as it sounds. Traffic Monsoon is free to join, and it’s free to use this method to make money.

When you sign up you can go in and click on as many ads as are available. However there is a cap, so you can’t just spend hours and hours ‘racking’ up the money.

You have to stay on each ad for 30 seconds. The idea here being that you view the ad and maybe there is a chance that you might be interested in what’s being sold?

Let’s look at the numbers: You re looking at about $0.02 per ad. Not much is it? So can you make any real money? Well say you wanted to make $100 a month just as a little extra.

You would have to click on 5,000 ads to get this money! And how long is this going to take (i’ll tell you, 2,500 minutes or 40 hours, that’s a full time job), not to mention how boring is it going to be. There are much better ways to make money online than this!

Way 2: Buying traffic packages to send visitors to your site

This is quite simple. You buy a certain traffic package, and people get sent to your site.

what is traffic monsoon about

Let’s take an example.

The cheapest pack is $5 which will give you 2,500 visitors per month to whatever website you choose. This is fine for just getting clicks to your website but what is the point in that? In fact, it can have a really negative affect on your website.

Firstly, the people visiting are those in ‘way 1’ . These people are just clicking to earn their $0.02! They aren’t interested in your product, and the chance are that two things will happen.

  • Your bounce rate (the percentage of people who leave your site just after arriving) will go through the roof, which can affect your Google rankings
  • You won’t make any sales at all.

So what is the point of this traffic? There is none. It is a waste of money, that is why it’s so cheap.

So that’s just the traffic covered, so let’s look at the revenue sharing side of things.

Way 3: Revenue Sharing

This is way that you will definitely make some money. But how much?

This is all about sharing the profits with those that ‘qualify’ from the services that are bought from Traffic Monsoon. Including some of the following:

  • Pay-Per-Click Banner Ad Campaigns
  • Pay-Per-Click Text Ad Campaigns
  • Traffic Exchange Start Pages
  • Traffic Exchange Credit Purchases
  • Monsoon Traffic Packages
  • Login Ads

To ‘qualify’ you need to need to first of all click on a minimum of 10 ads and stay on each website for 20 seconds.  Then you have to buy an ad pack. The minimum for this program is the $50 ad pack which gives you 1000 credits and 20 banner impressions.

If you do this, then you can share in revenues up to $55. So you make $5 back.

The thing is that this could take a month to come through, and to really make ANY decent money on this, you would need to invest a lot to get anything significant back. We are talking $1000’s, I know if I had $1000s to invest I wouldn’t be spending it at Traffic Monsoon, especially with Charles Scovilles reputation.

Way 4: Referring people to Traffic Monsoon

This is quite straightforward too. Anyone who you get to sign up to the traffic Monsoon program you will get 10% commission on any products that they buy. (except Cash links). This is probably why you might see some really positive Traffic Monsoon Reviews out there, they are trying to get you to be their referral.

You will probably find their recommendation is full of affiliate links. Now I make money on my site when I promote products, but I would only promote products I agree with and which I am happy to recommend. Sadly Traffic Monsoon isn’t one of them.

My verdict

To answer my initial question, is Traffic Monsoon a Scam, I don’t think it’s a scam, but I certainly don’t recommend it.. If you have time to waste and want a few extra bucks here and there, then traffic Monsoon might earn you a little pocket money. But I bet you after a while of clicking and clicking you will be bored to tears.

If you are looking for traffic to your website, try another recommendation of mine, but i will always say that using Google or Bing, known as the 1st tier search networks, to provide the absolute best quality traffic possible. Sure the price is always the issue but that’s another topic altogether!

But if you are serious about making money online, this isn’t the way to do it.

Have a look at a way to really make some serious money online. This is a way to eventually quit your job and do something  you are passionate about other than clikcing on links!

Please let me know if you have any experience of Traffic Monsoon, I would love to hear it.

Great review! I always wonder about such opportunities and your points are very valid. Sure an extra $100 is nice but not for 40 hours of work! That is nuts! And it is certainly tempting to get traffic to your site. I know for me I really want more traffic. But you make a great point. We want the RIGHT kind of traffic not just traffic.
thank you for your informative review.

    Hi Ruth,

I have been recruited several times by random social media acquaintances to try traffic monsoon. Luckily, I haven’t tried it, and probably will not anymore. I can’t help but connect it to another scam opportunity I have tried before where I pretend to “surf websites” by leaving my computer on for 30minutes or until it is done surfing 100 websites. That is one of the possibilities where all this traffic probably comes from. Definitely a pointless traffic!

Hello Ruth … I liked your post very much and agree with overall assessment. It’s not an all out scam as much as it is a waste of time … very low ROYT (return on your time). For site owners there are so many more productive ways to be spend your time.

The other point is that site owners should be looking for ways to increase visitor engagement. TM does nothing to encourage this, and will have a negative impact on your Google Analytics.

Did you develop your own Home Business Start Up Guide? How is that working for you? Is your list growing from it?

    • Ruth says:

      Hi Dennis

Yes i did develop a start up guide which you can get if you sign up to the right. This will tell you how to get started, the kind of things to think about and the right training to get you going.

Yes, my list is growing. It’s exciting stuff!
