Product Name: Voltage Partners

Website Url: www.voltagepartners.com

Price: Free at the moment

My Rating: 3.5 out of 5

My Recommendation: Voltage Partners is actually an interesting MLM concept with a different twist but it’s not quite there yet. But if recruiting friends and family is not something you are into, then try my no 1 recommendation to build an online home business where customers come to you.

What is Voltage Partners About?

They talk about a partnership.

You might be interested in getting involved in the app, game or software market and want to build a business in this arena but don’t know where to start. OR you might have an idea for an app, game or piece of software but don’t have the money to get it off the ground:

The idea around this business is that if you have an idea, you give it to Voltage Partners and they do all of the work around it, to take that idea to market: design, development, marketing, sales, and support. Then you get a percentage.

But your idea must have the potential to become a lucrative app, game or piece of software to be considered

If you don’t have an idea, you can have your own business in this field and join the MLM compensation Plan. More about this later.

Take a look at their video to find out more

How does it work?

If you want to get involved WITH an idea

  • Firstly you submit an idea
  • They review the idea
  • They look into the viability and projected success of this idea based on their experience. If it needs more work, and they think the idea has some credibility, they can help with this.
  • If the idea is approved, and note, not everything is approved.
  • Then they will develop the app for you. but it will become their intellectual property.
  • Voltage Partners uses their network to scale and market your developed so that it can reach more customers that you would probably be able to do yourself.

If you don’t have an idea:

  • There are various parts of the business opportunity that you can get involved in

How do you make money?

There are 5 ways you can make money with Voltage Partners.

What is Voltage Patners

1  If you have an idea

If you have created an idea, you will share in the NET profit of this idea.

Voltage Partners says that a typical app can cost anywhere from $15,000 to $30,000. From my own experience I know this is a little inflated but not too far off the mark. Of course it depends on the content and functionality of the app.

2. If you don’t have an idea, but want to get involved in the industry

You can build your own business, and get involved in the compensation plan: When they say build your own business, what they mean is to recruit people into your MLM team.

There is more detail about the compensation plan below

3. Share in the global profits

You can share in the success of all of the apps that have been successful in what they call the global development pool. So you don’t have to have an idea and you don’t have to have produced an app.

The idea here is that it offers a bonus to people who are active. The company will set aside a portion of its revenue every month for specific bonuses. Every month that an idea partner is active (i.e. they paid their retainer each month), they get a point. So for 12 months activity you get 12 points. Each point will be assigned a value so that the bonus is paid out that way. Essentially it’s like a dividend.

This is where it all becomes a bit woolly and it feels like they haven’t really ironed out exactly how this will work.

4. Help with Pre-selling ideas that are in the market validation stage

This is a way of testing the market. They have access to people who can test the app idea and see whether it is worthy and what works. You can be involved with this and therefore become part of that particular app business.

5. Earn an income as an affiliate

As an active idea partner you can earn commission from sales of the apps. Every app sale you get you will get a cut. Exactly how much this is, is not quite clear yet.

What is the Voltage Partners compensation plan?

What is the Voltage Partners compensation planVoltage Partners works on a binary compensation plan.

So you need to recruit 2 people, one goes on your right and one on your left. Then if you recruit any more, this is known as spillover. What this means is that they are then placed in the next gap down in the matrix. So you might get people placed under you that you didn’t personally recruit.

Commissions are paid based on the smallest of your two legs. So if you have a person on your left and on your right, one side will be stronger than the other. The smaller leg with fewer recruits, or the weakest sales will be your PAY LEG. And the number of sales and commission and referrals generated here will be the one you get paid on. A little annoying but this is standard practice for this type of compensation plan.

The system is based on points which are gained through interviewing people who sign up which is the qualifying activity that you must undertake to recruit someone. These points translate into dollars per recruitment.

But they also talk about another bonus called the 5 generation check match bonus.

The way the owners describe it is that if binary is vertical, check match is horizontal.

So no matter how deep your PAY LEG goes the match bonus goes across. So if you personally sponsor 5 people (even if they don’t sit directly under you in your binary tree), you will still pick up 20% of what they earn.  If those 5 people then sponsor 5 people you will get 10% of THEIR earnings. 5% on the next level down, 5% on the 5th level.

How much does it cost to get started?

At the moment you can set up a free account.

They are not talking about any fees as yet, but I suspect after launch they will do and there will be a monthly fee, which you will need to keep paying in order to be ‘active’

My verdict

Software development is definitely a growing industry, and getting involved in apps is rapid growth segment of this market. These days there is an app for everything you can think of, whether it is something fun or something functional.

I think this business is unique. But it is in its early days so there are still a few things that need to get worked out.

I feel they still have a lot to iron out in their compensation plan. At the moment, they have no products and will rely on affiliates to provide the product ideas. The danger here is that all that will happen is that there will be more affiliates who do not have an idea joining to be part of the business, recruiting yet more affiliates who do not have an idea. So where is the money coming from to pay these affiliates?

And, I can’t help it, I am not a fan of MLMs. No matter what you are selling.

I just don’t like recruiting people. It feels like such a hard sell. I have been burned before by people approaching me to join their opportunity and I would never want to be THAT person doing the selling. How to lose your friends!

I prefer to build a business around a model that gets your customers to come to you. People who are LOOKING for your product. If this is more up your street, check out my number one recommendation to build a business.

Voltage partners is 100% a scam. How could you give it a 3.5 out 5? You must have a position w the company or are that blind. Everyone, stay away. Its all about money. That is all they talk about and the have no product. They are an apps company and they dont have a single app. Not even ab app for thier own company. Plus the people involved are nothing but regurgitated failed mlm’ers.
If you like to throw away money and have your family and friends call you nutz, sign up.

    • Hi Johnny

Thanks for leaving a comment. Firstly I would like to say that I am NOT a fan of MLM. I would most definitely not be involved in their business. I really detest the MLM business model and I don’t see it as a successful option FOR ME. It does work for some, but not many. This was the point I was trying to get across in my review. Voltage partners only went live yesterday, so I don’t know how you can say it’s a scam. The definition of a scam varies for everyone, but my advice to everyone through this review is NOT to get involved from the beginning. See how it’s panning out and then you can tell if its paying and if people are making money in 6 months or so.

As a concept, I think it’s an interesting one, but as you say there are no apps as yet. I think this is the point. The members are supposed to come up with the ideas.. perhaps a little flimsy!

I think you will find in every MLM it is full of regurgitated failed MLMers. This is because 95% of people fail in MLM. But I can’t call Voltage Partners a certifiable scam yet – that would be irresponsible of me and then the true scams where they take your money and run and provide nothing that they have promised will be lost.

With this one time will tell, and you shouldn’t be the one to help them make or break.

I would be interested to know if you have exact experience of Voltage partners, do you know someone who has joined? I would like to say again, I am NOT a member of their team nor do I ever want to be.

    Hi Ruth,

Thanks for your review about the Voltage Partners. I think we are alike that we are not a fan of MLM and I do not like doing the hard sell or my friends would think if I ask them out for a tea or two is just to sell them things. But can’t deny that the concept of selling the ideas is interesting and refreshing. Besides, as far as I know the good verdict of Wealthy Affiliate, it is also about recruiting people with the affiliate program it offers?

    • Ruth says:

      Hi Jenna

I think a lot of people feel that in order to set up their own business one of the only ways to do this is with direct selling and force themselves down this route when it’s really not for them.

As regards Wealthy Affiliate, you aren’t recruiting people as such. You are providing them with information about something they are already interested in. For example if your niche was baseball caps for example, you would provide information on them, the customers would find your website, (on which you get full training, and free websites through Wealthy Affiliate), they would click through on your link which would take them to an online retailer such as Amazon, and you would get commission for every sale. If you want more information about affiliate marketing, check out this article.

      I hope that helps

  3. Michel says:

I am not really a fan of MLM’s either, but I like the concept of being paid for your ideas.

The only problem is how do you know that if your idea is reject that they won’t use it anyway.

I think I agree with you that it is better to build a sustainable business of your own online, rather than rely on others.

    • Ruth says:

That’s a good point Michel. If you have an idea, perhaps they might use it anyway. But in reality, they would have no business if they did that. But I do agree, I would rather have one that was just mine. For me that’s the difference between working for someone else and having your own thing. It’s totally donw to you, how well you do or how well you don’t do.

      Thanks for stopping by!
