Wealthy Affiliate – Community and training

What is the Best Affiliate Marketing Program for beginners?Wealthy Affiliate is for both beginners and advanced marketers. How can this be? Well the course starts you off, focussing on beginners, teaching you how to build a website on WordPress from scratch (a 30 second website builder is included), Then you are taken through step by step how to set up your affiliate business.

This includes finding a niche, building your content around the right keywords and developing your business through tried and tested methods, such as SEO and organic traffic generation, social media traffic, email marketing and paid traffic methods.

For the more advanced marketeers it is a priceless opportunity to keep learning and network with those already in affiliate marketing through the very active and respectful community. Something to consider that you can continue with when you are no longer a beginner – you won’t be a beginner forever!

It’s a tried and tested training course that provides a stable long term business.

Affilorama – With an Option for fast track

What is the Best Affiliate Marketing Program for beginners? This is one of the largest affiliate marketing training programs and offers a variety of different ways that you can approach setting up your business from scratch. The first way, through the program called Affiloblueprint, is similar to that of Wealthy Affiliate, through setting up your own website and building your business with step by step, over the shoulder, training. It is a highly credible and well respected affiliate marketing training program. And it’s great for beginners.

In addition there is always something to learn for the advanced marketeer with this program too.

You can fast track your business and buy a package (Affilojetpack) where a lot of the hard work is done for you, including your website built, your emails made and articles written and a whole lot more. Naturally this costs a lot more (around the $800 mark), so it depends what you are looking for here and what your budget is. If you can afford it, this is a fantastic fast track way to get started.

There is ongoing training and support offered and the training is thorough, detailed, professional and up to date.

Chris Farrell Membership – Email Marketing at It’s Best

What is the Best Affiliate Marketing Program for beginners? This is slightly different to the two above in that instead of creating a full website surrounding your niche you are essentially using a mini 3 page website to drive traffic to your website and get them to sign up to your email list. Then you use the LIST to communicate with your customers and sell products to them. It’s still affiliate marketing but with a different twist. It’s not all about selling either, as you can imagine how that would turn people off.

You choose your own niche, as with the other two and Chris helps you with this. And then the training walks you through how to build your website, how to drive traffic to it and how to entice that list and talk to them respectfully without pushing a heavy sell.

The training is very clear and easy to understand and this method is probably the most straightforward for any beginner

So now lets get onto the comparisons

So I have looked at what i think a beginner needs when setting up an affiliate marketing business and compared this on all three of the programs that I recommend

Here are the criteria I chose and why:

  • Initial set up – how quickly can you get the foundation of your business going, your basic website
  • Clarity of training – is the step by step training clear and easy to follow
  • Level of simplicity – how easy is it for a beginner to understand the full course
  • Speed of training – how quickly can you move through building your business, and get through the entire training program
  • Cost – how much is the initial package to set up, the basic cost
  • Community – is there a community of other affiliate marketers for knowledge and moral support
  • Access to the owners – Can you contact the owners if you need to
  • Technical support – is there technical support available once you get started
  • Ongoing training and updated information – Once you have completed the course what further information is there to help you build your business

I have chosen a rating scale of 1 to 5 where 5 is the optimum and 1 is that this is pretty non existent as a feature. You will notice that nothing gets below a 3, this is because I endorse all 3 programs because they are ALL very good at different things.

So what does all this mean?

what is the best affiliate marketing training for beginnersWell this comparison chart is based on my own personal experience, and I am recommending any of these 3 products, which I think are the best three out there.

Whichever one you choose depends on what you need to get started.

For instance, are you looking to get set up really quickly and have something profitable up and running in the shortest amount of time? Then I would recommend either Chris Farrell Membership.

If you have the money and want a lot of the work done for you, Affilojetpack from Affilorama is absolutely an excellent way to get started.

If you are looking for support and community to help you through the process, then I would recommend Wealthy Affiliate.

If you see yourself learning quickly and thirsting for more and more marketing knowledge in the future, then you need something more long term and are better off with either Wealthy Affiliate or Affilorama.

If access to the owners for real expertise and advice is important, I would suggest Chris Farrell Membership or Wealthy Affiliate.

I could go on, but then what I am doing is just writing out the table above in words!

My Recommendation

The scoring does mean that for me, Wealthy Affiliate comes out on top as I think this is absolutely the best training out there. What I love is that you can try it out for free for as long as you like to see if it works for you. I think if you do, you own’t look back!

What do I use?

Well I use Wealthy Affiliate to build my business as a premium member. I used their training to set up and host my websites because the package is so reasonable.

BUT, to make things more complicated, I use Affilorama for some training information and they often send out emails with ever such interesting information, monthly. I am on the free membership to take advantage of this. I went through as many affiliate training programs as I think are out there when I first started, so I feel I really know which ones are the best.

And I used Chris Farrell Membership to give me ideas to set up my email system and work with my email list. Which I am still working on and always will be.

If you want to know more about my experience, you can find out more here.

The only thing I would say is, as a beginner, don’t overwhelm yourself with too much like I did. Select one, learn from that, in the first instance, just stick to that, then branch out to make the most of the rest. In these packages you get a lot for free, so take what you kind and find the best for you.

  1. Thanks Ruth for sharing your journey with affiliate marketing. I am have started my own Affiliate journey and spent rime reviewing and trying different affiliate programs. I started with SFM (Six Figure Mentor), a great insight into the world of Online marketing and extensive training opportunities. Great videos explaining the process and the work required to set up an online business. I did sign up, but as you get further into the training I realised it was very expensive option. If you have the money and time, I do recommend SFM.

After reviewing a number of other programs I choose Wealthy Affiliate and I’m currently a premium member. Personally I believe the program is good value for money, some of the training is outdated..but I find the WA community so supportive. As a new member I highly recommend WA to all beginners, no hard sales pitch, very affordable options and website support.

All the best Ruth with your home business!

Hello, these three recommendations are all great affiliate marketing training programs as I’ve seen them all before and have heard good reviews on them elsewhere.

The way you laid it out is perfect. In my opinion Wealthy Affiliate takes #1 spot because they seem to include everything you need to build your affiliate marketing business and provide all the necessary tools as well such as website hosting and keyword research tool. Like you said the support and community at Wealthy Affiliate stands out from the rest and that’s probably why I’d recommend it the most. Thanks for the article.

    • Ruth says:

I would agree. It is most definitely my most used platform. The others I use as support and were great when I was getting started. In hindsight, with a few years experience under my belt, everything I needed was with Wealthy Affiliate. Thanks for leaving your comment.

As a content Wealthy Affiliate member, that’s the one that I’d still choose out of these three, although the Affiliojetpack looks good if you can easily afford it. The only thing that would worry me about the Affiliojetpack is the possibility that they’re selling the same website content to multiple people. If that’s the case, the website wouldn’t do well in the search engines. The Chris Farrell program looks good for people who are selling high priced products. I’ve heard that it’s better to sell them through email marketing, as people will rarely buy an expensive product the first time they see it online.

    • Ruth says:

yes I would agree. Affilojetpack is very expensive, and most people would not want to risk this as a business expense without guaranteed success, and as you say, how many others are there out there with the same website. I think the key thing here is to glean what you can from the free element of services and if its for you, then I would recommend going with the Wealthy Affiliate training as to me it’s the most comprehensive.

  4. You have given 3 very good programs for the beginner to learn the basics of affiliate marketing. If you visit the Warrior Forum you will see a combination of newbies wanting to learn the basics and completely lost and more advanced people trotting out the statistic that 95% of aspiring marketers fail.

Assuming that statistic is true, the reason so many fail is that they never receive any proper step-by-step education in affiliate marketing in the first place. Then they get confused by the gurus pushing their products ( CPA marketing, product creation etc.) which will only work if you already know the basics! The result is the newbies never get any focus and the ‘shiny object’ syndrome is endless.

    • This is absolutely right. You have to know the basics and learn in the correct way. Too many people think they can do it alone without any structure and this is where it can be really frustrating and you won’t get the results you deserve.

Shiny object syndrome is definitely a problem if you don’t have a specific path to follow, there is so much out there promising the earth, its easy to get distracted if you don’t have the right training.

  5. Thank you for this article! I want to start affiliate marketing but I’m very nervous and worried I don’t have enough traffic coming to my site for it to matter. Might be a long term goal. Pinned this article though to reference later. Thank you for the info!

  6. I have been online as an affiliate marketer since 2012 and I must admit that you really grouped the Best Affiliate Marketing Programs for Beginners.

Personally I signed up at Affilojetpack the last year and it really helped me so much to build a successful affiliate marketing website in 5 different affiliate niche including MMO/IM niche.

    Thanks so much

    • Hi Omar. Affilojetpack is a great program. Pricey but if you have the money, it’s worth it. Thanks for sharing your success. Hopefully others can take form this too.

  7. Kenny Lee says:

I’ve never thought of signing up another program as I’m happy with WA so far. But having read your post, I’m thinking whether do I need to take up the Chris Farrell program as I found my self lacking in list building skill. There’s a simple question. If I can generate list with 3 mini sites with Chris Farrel method, why do I need to keep generating content the WA way?

    • Ruth says:

That’s a Good Question Kenny Lee. The two program teach two different ways of affiliate marketing. My Recommendation depends on the stage of development you are at. If you are new to affiliate marketing, I suggest you build out what is known as an authority site, this would be your main hub and your main project. Once this business is established. Give it about 6 months, then I would go onto Chris Farrell where you can learn how to build mini businesses which will bring you in less money per site but you can have more of them.

I hope that helps.. Good luck with your business.

    • Hi Michael. I dropped you a quick email, but in case you don’t get that: I recommend using Wealthy Affiliate to teach you how to build an online business from scratch. You will get all the information you need, and all the tools you need to build your business from the ground up. It is the most all encompassing package out there, and it is what I used to build my business. Let me know what you think

  8. Daria says:

Very smart way to use the maximum benefit of each program.

I joined Wealthy affiliate last September, at that time; I knew nothing about starting online business. But now I created my first website and working on creating two more during this month.

I don’t think I will be able to join one more program; Wealthy Affiliate program is taking all my time already, for me it’s like Facebook that you find everything you need in one place- thanks to them I hardly have time to check my FB page once a week : )

But I will keep your idea in my mind for the future, to use other programs as a free member to bet the best of each program.

Thank you for your article, great job

    • Ruth says:

Great news Daria, I think you are wise, stick to one for the short term and then use the benefits you can get from free membership on the others to help give you ideas and boost your knoweldege.

      Happy to help!

  9. Thomas says:

I am new to affiliate marketing and I think your article is helpful.

Whenever I go to the Chris Farrell website I get an anti-virus warning from my computer (I use Firefox). Do you know why this is?

Affilorama sounds interesting but so expensive! I cannot afford $67 a month right now.

Wealthy Affiliate sounds like the best option for me based on your reviews.

Thank you for this informative article, Ruth!

    • Ruth says:

OH that is strange about the antivirus warning. I use Bullguard on Google Chrome and don’t get any warnings. I will have a look into it for you. Yes Wealthy Affiliate is my favourite, but they are all good programs. You can’t go wrong with any of them. Glad I could help you out!
